HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS TANZANIA SAFARI
The Machame Route is considered by many to be the most beautiful and scenic to climb. En-route you pass through tropical mountain rain forest to the snows of Kilimanjaro. Departure dates have been set to coincide with teh full moon and the best weather conditions. All groups climb with expert guides, an assistant guide, cook and porters. Accommodation through is in mountain tents pitched at sites near the overnight huts. All equipment provided is of high specification, including thick foam mattresses to ensure as comfortable a night's sleep as possible, a toilet tent, table and chairs and 2 watt radios to mountain communications with Arusha
Day 1- Arusha
You will be driven from Kilimanjaro International Airport to the Moivaro Coffee Plantation Lodge.This lodge is set in the grounds of a old coffee plantation and has spectacular views of Mount Meru. Dionner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2 - Kilimanjaro - Machame
Today you are transferred to the Muchame gate from where you begin to climb.
Overnight camping in mountain tents at Machame Hut (3,000 m) Full Board
Day  3 - Kilimanjaro - Shira
Rising early you cross a valley and a stream and then climb up a steep ridge for 3-4 hours. The path then drops into the river gorge before you climb more gently onto the moorland of the Shira Plateau, one of the most fascinating areas of the Mountain. Overnight camping in mountain tents at Shira Hut (3,840 m)

Day  4 - Kilimanjaro - Barranco
Today you will walk for 6 hours, seeing on route typical Kilimanjaro Mountain Vegetation and teh views of teh Barranco Valley . Overnight camping in mountain tents at Barranco Hut (3,950 m)  Full Board
Day  5 - Kilimanjaro - Barafu
From the Barranco Hut walk to Karanga (4,100m) from where the views of the West Breach and the southern glacier are breathtaking. About 2 hours from Karanga you will join up with the Barafu path. It is a further 1 1/2 hours to Barafu Hut where you Overnight camping in mountain tents at Barafu Hut (4,600 m)  Full Board
