| GONAREZHOU NATIONAL PARK | |
| LOCATION | South-eastern Zimbabwe, on the
Mozambique border. This park covers a 5000 square kilometers area of open grassland and
dense woodland. Tsetse fly control operations and poaching, contributed to the extermination of more than 55000 animals, before the area was proclaimed a Game Reserve in 1968. Gonarezhou is 40 Km wide, and together with the adjoining Mozambique game area, forms a natural migratory triangle with the game population of the Kruger National Park. Gonarezhou National Park, is divided in two parts; Chipinda Pools on the North and Mabalamata on the South. |
| ACCOMMODATION | Thatched Chalets at Swimuwini camp ( South) and camping sites at Chipinda Pools. |
| FACILITIES | Network of game viewing roads ( 4X4 vehicles only). Visitors to the park, must carry with them enough food and petrol for the duration of their stay. |
| OPEN | 1st of May to 31st of October. |
| SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS | Malaria, Bilharzia. |
| WILDLIFE | Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Black Rhino, Zebra, Giraffe, Antelopes, Sable, Roan Antelope. |
