LAKE MALAWI NATIONAL PARK
LOCATION Southern Malawi. The park, covering an area of 88 square kilometers, includes the Khumba Peninsula, a portion of Lake Malawi and 12 Islands.
Lake Malawi National Park is mentioned in this site, not for it's mammal population, but rather for it's spectacular variety of fresh water fish ( 450 species recorded), and it's rich bird life.
ACCOMMODATION None inside the park, but there are hotels and camping sites nearby.
Where to stay, outside the Park
FACILITIES Game viewing roads, boats for hire, diving and snorkeling.
OPEN Throughout the year.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS Malaria.
WILDLIFE Bushbuck, Klipspringer, Hippo, Crocodiles and a rich Bird life.
