| SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK | |
| LOCATION | South Luangwa is situated on the
Eastern side of Zambia, within the Luangwa Valley, covering an area of some 9050 sq.km. of
huge grass plains, woodland and grass plains. The Luangwa River normally floods between January and February, turning the area into a rich, highly productive ecosystem and adding beauty to the scenery. |
| ACCOMMODATION | The greater part of the 14 lodges and camps in South Langwa, are privately run by Safari operating organizations, who meet their guests at Lusaka Airport, and fly them to Mfuwe airfield, on the outskirts of the Park. |
| FACILITIES | Network of game viewing roads, recommended only for 4X4 vehicles. |
| OPEN | Throughout the year. |
| SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS | Malaria. Tsetse Fly. |
| WILDLIFE | Black Rhino and Elephant populations have been severally devastated by poachers. Hippo, Buffalo, Lion, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Roan Antelope, Lichtenstein's Hartebeest and several other Antelope species. A very rich Bird life. |
