We understand that not everyone wants to do the same thing at the same time. The Shongololo Express is specifically designed to provide everyone with the best of all worlds. Whether you want a leisurely round of golf or a close encounter with a Great White Shark, we'll take care of the details. There are a variety of optional activities on offer, but participation is entirely up to you. A multitude of activities occurs simultaneously.

On board of the train, you'll dine on uniquely Southern African cuisine, ranging from Cape Dutch to Malay and authentic African dishes. We use only the best quality products in combinations that will tantalize your taste buds. Each meal is complimented by a superb selection of highly commended South African wines. Friendly and efficient staff is on hand to meet your every need. After dinner, enjoy a drink at our bar or in the company of fellow travellers in our lounge. If you wish to experience the local nightlife when the train departs late, transport and guides for evening outings are available at no extra charge.

Each train has its own bar, dining and accommodation carriages. Cabins have ample storage space and closets are equipped with both hangers and shelving.  All passenger compartments have hand basins with running water. Power is 220V AC and European plug adaptors are provided. In addition, there is an onboard laundry service. Our excursion vehicles are fully air-conditioned Mercedes Benz Sprinters, which have been adapted to African road and off-road conditions. They seat a maximum of 12 people comfortably.
