COMMON NAME Klipspinger SCIENTIFIC NAME Oreotragus oreotragus As their name implies they are partial to rocky outcrops and boulder-strewn hills and are in fact restricted to those habitats. Klipspringer can occur single, in pairs or small family groups. Only males Klipspringers have horns and the females are slightly larger than the males. Their major predators are Leopards martial eagles and black eagles. They can attain a mass of about 12 kilograms and have a life span of about 10 years. |
