COMMON NAME Bushbuck SCIENTIFIC NAME Tragelaphus scriptus Bushbuck occur mainly in areas of permanent water and the dense habitat along perennial rivers and valleys. Bushbuck are mainly solitary animals, but can form small family groups consisting of a female and her young or two or three males together. Only male bushbuck have horns, and the sexes also differ in colour the females being much lighter, a sort of chestnut brown. Males attain a mass of about 30 to 50 |
