COMMON NAME Impala SCIENTIFIC NAME Aepyceros melampus (Lichtenstein,1812 Adult Impala can weigh up to 60 Kg. and have a life span of about 14 years. Only Males have horns. Seen on the picture in the left, a Red Billed Oxpecker feeding on ticks and lice of a young Impala Ram The bird clings to host animals with sharp claws. |
